Yani painted this subject from taking a photograph and her imagination, and by recalling her own experience of the scene.

This was a challenging subject with vertical and horizontal structures, perspective and figures with composition colours. Furthermore, the challenge also was how to suggest the wet reflective pavement.

I use a variety of materials and techniques to capture the effects that I felt were important, especially the impact of the light.

The above painting " Wet Afternoon, Duke Of Wellington Statue" will be exhibited in Drymen Village Hall on 16th/17th April.
